108 Sun Salutations to experience your inner radiance!
Why 108? The number 108 is an auspicious number in various ancestral traditions. Particularly in the yoga tradition, 108 is a sacred number which represents union, spirituality and infinity. We practice a mala of Sun Salutations to honour and mark special occasions, such as a birthday or New Years Day.
Practicing 108 Sun Salutations may seem daunting, especially considering that in most yoga classes the most you might do is ten. Cat will break this down and show you how to do Sun Salutations in a safe and sustainable way. You don’t have to do all 108 Surya Namaskar - factors of 108 like 27, 36 and 54 are also auspicious numbers!
To celebrate the Summer Solstice, which also coincides with Father’s Day, we'll be practicing with specific intentions to respect the sun, masculine energy and the world around us. Salutations are practiced in nine rounds of 12 and will be guided with variations. The practice will start with intention setting and Sun Salutation guidance and finish with a gentle cool down and meditation.
Cost: $22.00 per person.
