FAQs with Cat
Q: Who is this retreat for? Who comes on a retreat?
A: The Morocco Magic Retreat is open to women who want to travel to Morocco and have some yoga experience. So much of a retreat experience is about being open to what shows up: On the yoga mat, within the group, and during travels. As you practice more yoga, you can become more discerning about your reactions and responses. My yoga retreats are often attended by women who are looking for a break and want to cultivate inner calm. And Morocco will attract a slightly more adventurous person!
Q: Is this retreat only for advanced yogis?
A: Definitely not! You will benefit from having practiced yoga before, but I am an experienced yoga teacher who can adapt the practice depending on your skill level. I can also can offer suggestions and modifications if you’re dealing with an injury. This is a great opportunity to explore different styles of yoga, ask questions, and learn variations that work for your body.
Q: What if I’m coming to Morocco Magic alone?
A: That’s great! You’ll have an opportunity to connect more with me, the group, and yourself. You can share a room with twin beds with another solo participant (I will do my best to pair you up), or choose a solo room. You will be fully supported and integrated into the group.
Q: Have you traveled to Morocco before?
A: Yes I have! I hosted a retreat at this same location in 2025. I previously traveled in Morocco and I was in many of the major cities, as well as rural areas. Morocco is a beautiful and diverse country, with delicious food, amazing scenery, and friendly people. It is a safe and exotic destination that makes a magical backdrop for a transformative yoga retreat.
Q: How do I get there?
A: I recommend that you fly into Marrakech (RAK). Peacock Pavilions is about a 35 minute drive away from the airport. You can also look into arriving in Casablanca (CMN) or Rabat (RBA) and taking a domestic flight or ground transportation to Marrakech. From there, we will arrange transport to Peacock Pavilions.
Q: When is check in and check out?
A: Check in is 3pm on Saturday April 11 and check out is at 11am on Friday April 17. You may want to arrive a day or two before to get used to the time difference and explore on your own.
Q: What does a day at this retreat look like?
A: Each day of our retreat will be unique, as I’ve curated the activities based on the group dynamic, the moon cycle, and my experience of hosting retreats. Typically, we will have two yoga practices per day (one more active and one more passive), meditation, breathing practice, meals together, free time, and an outing.
Q: What about the food?
A: Morocco is a culinary delight! Many of our meals will be at Peacock Pavillions, and we will also be going to a number of recommended restaurants. One of the days, we will partake in a Moroccan cooking class. Dietary issues and preferences like vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy free can easily be accommodated.
Q: Is this a dry retreat?
A: No it’s not, and you are welcome to purchase alcohol on site at Peacock Pavilions. As a general guideline, please refrain from drinking before yoga practices and be mindful of your consumption.
Q: What is the weather like in April?
A: We can expect lots of sun and temperatures during the day to be around 25C/77F. The evenings can be cooler, with lows around 12C/54F.
Q: Am I required to participate in every excursion and activity?
A: No, you can customize your retreat experience to be as relaxed or as lively as you want. Although a group itinerary with daily meditation, yoga and activities has been curated, at the end of the day you can opt in or out of anything along the way.
Q: What is NOT included in the price?
A: You are responsible for booking and paying for flights and transportation to Peacock Pavillions (can be organized through us, but not included). I also strongly recommend that you get travel and medical insurance. Alcohol, snacks, massages, and souvenirs can be purchased. You will be responsible for a couple of meals and activities like the hammam treatment and camel riding, cooking class, depending on what you choose to do.
Q: What is your cancelation policy?
A: Please familiarize yourself with the policies for this retreat before you book, here. You will be asked upon checkout to agree to these terms.
Q: Are there any health related issues that I should be aware of?
A: Please make sure your routine vaccinations are up to date. Please check with your doctor to see if you need anything specific to your health needs.
Q: Do I need a visa to travel to Morocco?
A: No you don’t as a tourist for less than 90 days.
