πŸ˜ŽπŸ‰β˜€οΈ Summer isn't over yet

As you (likely) know, I'm a winter lover, though I do also looove summer. It always seems to go by so quickly and here we are at the end of August. I've been enjoying all that summer has to offer with lots of BBQs, family time, cottage hangs, a wedding, and an East Coast trip. I'm the most tanned that I've been in years!

At this time of year, the seasonal change is just starting to creep in - the sun doesn't set quite as late and the morning air can feel a tiny bit more brisk. I find myself planning a lot for the fall (lots of upcoming events and trainings!) and wanting to get back into routine.

All that being said, summer isn't over yet! Here are a few ideas to squeeze out every drop of summer

1. Host a small gathering
Meet up at a park or at your home and have sweet summer fruits and cool drinks. This helps to balance the fiery Pitta dosha or constitution which is the summer season for Ayurveda. Getting together with friends doesn't need to be fancy or complicated!

2. Practice yoga outdoors
Feel the warmth of the sun and cool breeze on your skin while being mindful of your breath during a yoga class. I'm teaching a Yoga + Social event TONIGHT at Bate Island, in between Ottawa and Gatineau. I'd love to have you join us at 6:45pm. Sign up here!

3. Go for a hike
In the Ottawa/Gatineau area, we are so lucky to have Gatineau Park to hike, cycle and run in. Even taking time to go for a longer walk in your neighbourhood allows you to take advantage of the extra daylight.

4. Get into some water
A pool, river or lake - immersing yourself in water is good for the soul! For bonus points, you can practice some underwater yoga :)

5. Play games
Summer is all about playing and fun. Whether you play board games or golf, take the time to kick back and play. Croquet anyone?!

Squeeze in as much down time and fun time as you can!
