This retreat to a magical winter wonderland was the perfect combination of snowshoeing and yoga practices. The gathering for nutritious meals together led to conversations that fed the mind and soul as well as the body. The sauna combined with plunging in the snow was rejuvenating. Centre de Vie is nestled in the hills of the Outaouais in Quebec and boasts amazing delicious vegetarian food (Chef Monique is the best!), comfortable accommodations, an unforgettable yoga space, and a unique dry sauna. The centre is conveniently located an hour from downtown Ottawa and is on 216 acres of forest and lake. Snowshoes are available to explore the trails and enjoy winter forest bathing through the pristine woodland.

You will have time to curl up with a great book in the loft or connect with other yogis in the sauna. Our yoga practices will be both accessible and rejuvenating - a balance of yin & yang. You will be part of a small group - purposely intimate to provide you with more individual attention and space to listen to your own body.

Just when Winter blahs were wearing me out, along came Cat’s Yoga & Snowshoe retreat. The whole weekend truly replenished and delighted me. Views from every window at la Centre de Vie are soothing and expansive...especially from the gorgeous yoga studio in the renovated barn. The snowshoe trails were beautiful and just the right length. The people that are naturally attracted to work with Cat are fine company to sit around the dinner table with and the food was nourishing and delivered with love. Cat’s yoga teaching was just right. The blend of stronger and softer practices, and the luxurious inclusion of aromatherapy was just the healing I needed. Do not miss the sauna!

Friday

4pm onwards - arrive and check-in

5pm - opening circle

6pm - dinner

7:30pm - meditation + restorative yoga (90 min)

9pm - moon gazing at the outdoor fire

 

Saturday

7am - meditation + breathing + journaling

7:30am - breakfast (in sacred silence)

9am - mobility + flow yoga (75 min)

11am - group snowshoe

12:30pm - lunch

free time to read, use the sauna or get a massage

4:30pm - YogAroma yin (90 min)

6pm - dinner

7:30pm - group activity/workshop

8:30am - group snowshoe

10am - sauna & snow plunge

11am - slow flow yoga (75 min)

12:30pm - lunch

Cat plans the most magical retreats. This retreat in particular was the perfect opportunity to getaway from the noise and busyness of the city and spend some quality time in nature. The asana practices were powerful and encouraged stillness and mindfulness. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to tune in and reconnect with the inner self.
