The counter to Blue Monday 💙
/I hope you are having a great week and yesterday’s sunshine helped with Blue Monday. I know for many, this time of year can be a struggle – the shorter days and colder temperatures mean a lot of us spend extended time cooped up inside. Well, I am here to sprinkle a bit of winter joy in you way.
I am a genuine winter lover at heart! Don’t get me wrong, the sunshine and summer warmth are amazing too, but for me, winter truly shines. As you may have noticed on my Instagram over the weekend, I enjoyed snowshoeing a couple of times, and got out X-Country skiing yesterday. The fluffy pristine blanket of snow was magical!
What about you? Do you enjoy the winter months? If you’d like to explore some of the beautiful winter activities within the region, the NCC has a fantastic guide to winter outings on the Gatineau Park Trails. You can find that here and I’d love to hear from you if you venture out to experience them! Sometimes, taking that first step to trying something new can ignite a spark. I recently gave curling 🥌 a try (I know, for a winter lover, you’d think I would have tried that by now)! I’m actually trying to get more comfortable with being on the ice and so far it has been a fun way to try something new, while also overcoming that fear.
If you’d like to embrace winter a bit more, I am running my annual Yoga & Snowshoe Retreat February 10-12 in the beautiful Outaouais hills of Quebec. The 216 acres of forest and lakes provide the perfect backdrop for snowshoeing. The cozy Centre de Vie is the ultimate haven to return to - with comfy accommodations, amazing vegetarian food, an epic yoga space and a dry sauna. Let’s escape to nourish our mind, body and soul under the canopy of beautiful snow and peaceful nature sounds.
